Listening to Your Body as You Age

One of the most beautiful things about yoga is that it evolves with you. As we grow older, yoga isn’t about nailing the perfect pose or achieving a specific “look”—it’s about tuning into your body, moving with intention, and honouring what it needs in the moment.

Practicing yoga for general health well into your later years helps keep your body mobile, your mind sharp, and your spirit grounded. It supports flexibility, strength, and balance while also calming the nervous system and improving overall well-being.

These days, my practice is all about going with the flow—literally. I’ve let go of rigid expectations and now focus on how the movement feels rather than how it looks. Some days that means gentle stretches, other days it’s restorative poses or mindful breathing. It’s a constant reminder that yoga is here to support you, not the other way around.

Yoga isn’t just for the young or super flexible; it’s for everyone, at every stage of life. It grows with you, meets you where you are, and helps you feel your best—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
